How is this done? I only have center , left and right to put my icons. Can anyone who got the update to 2. I'm using Dolphin browser. Is there a plugin I need? As much as I love my DX this is a disappointment. I tried searching for an answer to this but maybe my wording isn't right. I want to know if I can make web pages appear larger on the screen when I'm using an internet browser. Before the 2. I just want to increase my view but the options I've tried under settings must not be the right thing.
I got an Eris today. I am happy with the phone in general, but I did not realize how much I may want a keyboard with a smart phone. I may go back and get the Motorola version tomorrow. My only concern is I do not know how to turn off getting the mobile versions of web pages as the default on the Motorola Droid. There is an option to turn off getting mobile versions of web pages as the default on the Eris, but I could not find it on the Motorola version.
If I am getting a fast phone with a good browser, I want the full version of web pages-not scaled down mobile versions. Can I change that option on the Motorola? How do you add more pages to android 2. Alright, I went to a website that I was directed to go to. I had no problem viewing the main page, but when I click on a tab from the home page, it opens up that over top of the home page, like an overlay. I have no problem seeing this either. The problem is when I try to scroll on the overlay, I get these black boxes that surround the overlay and then it locks up and kicks me out of the browser or reboots my phone.
I tried messing with the browser setting but that didn't help. Does anyone know what may be causing this? I keep getting the "web page not available" screen when I try to load up a page through a program such as word wrench or world war, even when I'm connected with wifi. Been trying to find an answer for this but no luck.
Long time blackberry user and I just traded in my tour yesterday for the Droid Eris. Let me just get this out of the way first and say WOW what an awesome phone this thing rocks the casba better than any blackberry I've ever owned.
Ok now that I've got that out of the way here is my deli-ma and if this has been posted and answered before please forgive me as I did conduct a search prior to this I just couldn't find a thread that related to my scenario.
Ok so I work for a huge IT company and when I was on the BB I had a rule setup with my BB desktop manager that any emails that came through with the word PAGEME in the body to forward that email to my phone as a level 1 message and cause my phone to explode in the process.
Whatever be the case I am open to anything all that matters is that we can make the phone do some god awful sound when a page comes in so that way I can at least assure that my phone will at least wake my wife up so she can kick me and wake me up. The positive thing is that the page will only be sent to me so whatever rule we'll be creating will be specific to me being the only recipient. And yes the page does come through as a email. I can change the pager address to be mynumber vtext. There's also the matter of the keypress vibrate.
Every time you hit a button or a letter on the on-screen keyboard, the Eris vibrates just a little. This so-called haptic feedback has always annoyed me. Amazingly there's no way to disable this "feature" throughout the phone. You can disable it for the onscreen keyboard, but not for other tapping functions. Unlike other Verizon phones, the OS isn't horribly crippled, and the Android Market will hopefully grow quickly. But it would seem that they missed the mark. If you could somehow take the significantly faster Motorola Droid and marry it to the Eris form factor, you'd have a faster, sleeker Android 2.
Throw in some significant security and management features, and a much faster CPU, and we'd really be talking. There's much to like about the Motorola Droid and the Eris, but they're each missing several things -- things that the iPhone 3G S has. It does make the most of Android 1. Ultimately this laptop has achieved everything I would hope for in a laptop for work, while fitting that into a form factor and weight that is remarkable. This smart laptop was enjoyable to use and great to work on — creating content was super simple. As the Maserati or BMW of laptops, it would fit perfectly in the hands of a professional needing firepower under the hood, sophistication and class on the surface, and gaming prowess sports mode if you will in between.
This small mobile printer is exactly what I need for invoicing and other jobs such as sending fellow tradesman details or step-by-step instructions that I can easily print off from my phone or the Web.

When the phone is on a WiFi network and the mobile internet network is switched on too, does the phone automatically use the WiFi before the mobile internet? I have an Asus Slider Sl Around 3 days ago, our router had been changes as the previous one wasn't working properly. Our carrier is Charter and our router is Netgear. We hooked every device up to that new router and everything worked fine, including the tablet.
But later on in the day,the Internet on there stopped working. It shows that it's connected, but when I try to access the internet through the browser, it does not work.
The blue line at the top of the browser starts up, moves forward a little, and stops entirely while the browser then says "Webpage Not Available". They all work fine. Our router shows that our android is connected to it, as well. I've tried the static IP stuff, restarted the router, left the wifi off on the tablet for a few hours, and turned it off and off. I even factory resetted it and not even that worked. I just rooted my recently acquired Evo for one really intersting app, the wifi tether app for root users.
The problem i am getting is that my computer picks up the wireless connection but it still says i have no internet connection and it doesn't work. The connection is open with WEP disabled. The guy at the Verizon store said I can use my Eris to be able to get my home PC connected to the internet instead of needing a home hook up router etc. Can this be done, if so how? I can connect to my droid with my wireless PC, but it always say no internet connection. It shows I'm connected but without internet access.
If the internet connection is cut-off the application needs to "sleep" in order to reduce the battery consumption. If the internet connection is back the application should "awake". I don't want to use pooling. I know that in java we receive these notifications from the connectivity service. Can we trap them natively? I remember someone saying that it was easy entering the settings for o2.
Can some kind soul give me a simple step-by-step instruction for setting up the hero with o2? Since two days ago everything was fine and everything worked perfectly, it was almost too good to be true, and of course something had to break. My phone is connected to my home wireless and it even has really strong signal but going on the internet simply doesnt work.
Going on with mobile data works, but connected to my main wifi source doesnt. Does anyone know if I activate the Wifi connection it trumps the carrier network connection? In other words, if the Wifi connection is active assuming i have a signal and my carrier signal is also active, and I want to stream some audio--which pipe does the phone use to bring in the audio?
I have a wired internet connection on my PC, how do i share that internet connection to my HTC wildfire. Now if i buy a usb wifi dongle and attach that to my pc , will i be able to share my wired internet connection with my cell phone.
I have a verizon fios wireless router, model MIWR, and i am having trouble maintaining a wireless connection with my eris. Jun 6, I just connect my evo with my home network, and it finds network ok and everyting.
