It will replace Shockwave, which was retired recently. A thrill ride that looks like a giant Frisbee swinging in a pendulum motion while spinning in a clockwise rotation will be coming to Kings Dominion next spring.

The Delirium ride will replace the Shockwave roller coaster, the Hanover County theme park announced this morning. The Shockwave stand-up coaster carried its last passengers on Aug. Delirium will send 40 outward-facing riders on a continuous ring with their legs dangling free in the air - spinning at the bottom of a giant arm that swings back and forth up to feet in the air at a maximum degree arc. As the ride gains momentum, it is expected to give riders a swirling view of the park as they experience gravity defying hang time.

The ride will be in the Candy Apple Grove section of the theme park. When the Shockwave roller coaster opened at Kings Dominion in , it was a big deal for both visitors and park employees.

In a farewell ceremony of sorts, Kings Dominion staff planned a final ride for 10 p.
