Excellent school. Families from adjacent neighborhoods apply to attend Canyon Vista through School of Choice because it has an excellent reputation. In my opinion - it lives up to its reputation. The staff is amazing and there is a strong parent group that supports many extra curricular activities. The BEST elementary school!!. My kids excelled academically, made great friends, learned important social skills, and had FUN.
My older kids didn't want to leave after 5th grade and continue to look back at the school with fond memories. Considering the technology available, even in inner city schools without large budgets, it is very disappointing Canyon Vista doesn't utilize technology in the classroom. Neighboring schools have Chromebooks, but here it's one Chromebook per table of 6 or 7 kids.
Forget it, doesn't exist here. Nope, not here either. Don't choose a school by the rating, it's only based on state test scores, not a real reflection of learning going on at the school. Canyon Vista I expect more, but sadly disappointed.
